These series of Banquitos were comissioned for Galerie Philia and a special project in Houston, Texas. After the Baquito Prototype, we replicated the same shape in slightly different sizes, a natural result due to the handcrafted nature of these pieces.

Later on a new series of Banquitos was comissioned for the Denver Museum of Art, in the context of Have a Seat, an exhibition featuring Mexican chair design.

Inspired in the organic architecture movement of the 60´s and 70´s, these pieces seek to bring, like much of Ila´s work, the outer landscapes of the natural world into everyday urban life, particularly the urban home.

In these photos, these pieces dialogue with the amazing house by Daniel Pouzet in Guadalajara, Mexico

Able to fully support an adult person, these pieces are made to sit on, stand on or used as side tables.
